AR Glasses
UX Structure Design
User friendly UX navigation system
designed for wearable tech.
This project is originated from Xiaomi's portable AR glasses. This juvenile project evolves from rough sketches of product hardware design to detailed App user flows. The final product has launched in late 2021.
以下是我在小米实习期间产出的交互方案。主要负责小米智能眼镜的产品底层逻辑设计。
在这个项目中,我大部分时间和硬件研发团队和产品经理沟通,梳理可以实现的软件产品功能,理解技术限制。
我们完成从0到1的底层逻辑构思,包括定义眼镜硬件端的交互手势,主架构层级,细分App功能等。
产品于2021年末发布demo,是一款轻便的,优化生活方式的可穿戴产品。

Research &
Brain Storming
Before designing the infrastructure, we brainstormed many possible usage scenarios of smart glasses. Since we were starting the project from scratch, this step helped the team to have a better understanding toward product functions.
在设计交互架构之前,我们头脑风暴了智能眼镜在日常生活中可能存在的使用场景。
我们也对市面上存在的相似产品进行了功能上的竞品分析,这一步帮助团队对自身产品在市场中的定位有更好的理解。

How will AR glasses impact our daily life routine?
Answers on the right were concluded from sticky notes by team members. From these answers we conclude functions users might be interested in.

Team Collaboration & Hardware Testouts
In this project I got to collaborate with multiple sides during the whole process of design. Teams that I contacted include the product designers, supply chain managers, software & algorithm engineers, and UI designers. I also visited the R&D lab and manufacturing site, learning the whole process from design to manufacture.

我们需要不断测试交互手势和视觉效果,倾听硬件产品经理提出的技术难点,并用交互逻辑解决问题。
比如,帧数不足以支撑复杂动画,我们就简化了主页面的icon滑动设计。
再比如,供应商回复现阶段只能使用单色屏幕,我们就通过对比度,字体大小,和透明度来提示用户页面结构的区分。
另外,我们发现相较于手机等其他硬件屏幕,眼镜投射的荧幕其实并没有边缘,所以有些信息应该出现在屏幕中央,而不是角落。

眼镜两侧的交互手势设计,主页面层级结构,消息提醒功能,蓝牙耳机+音乐功能。
Wire Frames & Prototypes
I drew out wireframes and detailed user navigation flow maps for some apps, Which most has been accepted in the final product. Apps I tried include Weather, Calendar, Music, General, Message, etc.
除此之外,我也尝试设计了一些功能页面的交互流程构想,包括天气,日历,音乐,设置,微信等。
User Scenarios

The AR glasses are equipped with integrated AI and IoT compatibility, allowing users to effortlessly recognize and control smart home electronics through intuitive gestures and voice commands.
It features a secure, real-time facial recognition system that enables seamless and private face-to-face transactions with a simple nod, a few blinks, and confirmation gesture.
It employs advanced computer vision algorithms to instantly identify and highlight your Uber car with a unique virtual marker, making it easily distinguishable in a crowded lineup of vehicles.
It utilizes image recognition and AI to scan menus or food plates, providing instant reminders about potential allergies, enhancing dining safety and awareness.
The AR glasses enable collaborative digital whiteboarding by allowing users to virtually create and place digital sticky notes, fostering group engagement and idea sharing in real time.
It features facial recognition technology that identifies individuals, triggering a display of shared photo memories, creating meaningful moments instantly.
And it does not have to be a person at all.
It offers a virtual space where, in this case, users can interact with virtual Lego bricks, build structures, and collaborate with others in a dynamic and immersive 3D environment.
The AR glasses employ object and animal recognition technology, instantly identifying items in your field of view and providing detailed descriptions to enhance your understanding and knowledge.
This AR glasses feature a transparent weather display that overlays real-time weather information onto your field of vision, allowing you to view the day's forecast with full view of the stunning city sight or blithe nature in the back.
It also has a "Car Locator" function that help you find your car in a crowded garage when you've forgotten its location. It overlays directional arrows and distance indicators onto your field of view, guiding you to your vehicle seamlessly.

Final Product
Xiaomi Glasses version 1.0 has been launched in Q4 2021. Version 2.0 came in Q3 2022, with a pre-sold revenue of $718K in the first 12 days. If you're interested, below are the links to Xiaomi's website.
